One of the biggest addiction treatment and education center in the country has launched its latest program on addiction prevention. According to Director Yvonne Rodgers, their new campaign is to educate families on what to do when their loved ones are suffering from drug addiction.
It also educates them on the need to provide early drug intervention for their loved-ones and commit them in a rehab center to receive effective addiction treatment. The latest campaign and the urgency of delivering it are in accordance to the addiction report released by LA Times last September.
In the said report, drug-related deaths have increased over the years and have outnumbered traffic-related deaths. It also states that these drug-related deaths are generally caused by prescription drug overdose. The report clearly shows that the need for immediate treatment is very important and delaying it could lead to deadly consequences.
According to Rodgers, “What we are repeatedly seeing during intake at our centers in the Eastern US, is the large number of different drugs the addict is taking each day along with the high doses that are often also mixed with alcohol. It is typical for people to be taking Oxy, Xanax, cocaine and drinking every day.”
Rodgers urges everyone by saying that family intervention and encouragement can save their loved-one’s life and help improve family relationships. She reiterates to parents and families the need to educate themselves about addiction and encourage their loved-ones to seek addiction treatment before it’s too late.
Narconon Eastern US offers a drug-free addiction treatment with 76% success rate. For 50 years, Narconon has launched an array of programs to successfully help individuals end their addiction and stay sober. Part of their program is to educate everyone about drug addiction.
